Welcome to St Peters Western Swim Club

Based at St Peters Lutheran College Indooroopilly, we are one of the largest and most successful swimming clubs in Australia, known for our swimming excellence driven by arguably the very best coaches in Australia and ably supported by a hard working Club Committee and swimmer parents.

Our coaching staff is led by Dean Boxall (2016 Age Coach of the Year) who has been with the club since 2013.

Until recently, Dean was our Intermediate Coach. In that role, he has produced outstanding results with this squad, winning the Age Nationals championship for three consecutive years and developing a number of his charges, such as Ariarne Titmus, Jack Cartwright and Clyde Lewis, into members of the Australian Dolphins open swim team.

Dean has also had numerous members of his Intermediate squad achieve national representation at Junior Pan Pacs, Junior World Championships and Commonwealth Youth Games.

Dean took over Head Coaching duties in October 2017 from the highly respected and credentialled Michael Bohl OAM, who left our club after 14 years in the role to take up a new opportunity. Michael has left a wonderful legacy and Dean, his coaching staff, the club and committee are committed to ensuring that the culture, programs and systems which drive our track record are maintained and continue to develop.

Supporting Dean we have outstanding assistant coaches including Maxine Seear (competed in Triathlon at the Athens Olympics in 2004) and Scott Crawford. Our junior squad is led by Stewart Melton, who has also had outstanding success with young age group swimmers, taking many to State championships and Age Nationals. Following Dean's appointment we are currently recruiting for a new Intermediate coach and hope to be able to make that announcement shortly.

SPW attracts swimmers not just from our local precincts of St Peters Lutheran Colleges at Indooroopilly and Springfield, but from across Australia and the international swimming world. Our swimmers range from our little Club Nighters to our elite Olympians - and everyone in between.

Whilst acknowledging SPW swimmers at the highest representative levels, our Club is very aware that every swimmer has their own goals and objectives and without strong Junior and Intermediate Programs, then the future of our amazing Club will be less than prosperous.

Here at SPW, we encourage diversity, sportsmanship and commitment, as well as providing a platform for self improvement in a fun and positive environment. With such world class swimmers, coaches and facilities, it is hard not to be inspired!

NOTE: School aged swimmers who swim for St Peters Western MUST be a student at St Peter's Lutheran College.
